Funded by the borough for the fourth consecutive year, Prevention NDG provided animation at a local basketball court in Côte-des-Neiges. Working 25 hours a week, during evenings and Saturdays, Charles Jackson supervised the court.
Charles saw approximately 1500 neighbourhood kids and noticed a decline in the numbers from the two previous years, especially during the summer months when school was out. Possibly due to the fact that Kent Park’s basketball court was newly renovated and was well used.
The youth enjoyed being with Charles (known for his phenomenal basketball skills) and learned a lot! As of this year, Charles Jackson overlooks the basketball courts at Coronation, Kent and Mackenzie-King. Hoping that one day, the new court at Georges Saint-Pierre park will also be part of it routine.
