Outreach Worker NDG

A partnership project with the Table de Concertation Jeunesse NDG, this project began in September 2010 with an objective is to reach youth who are not linked to an NDG community organization. Mesay Girma created contacts, both with youth and with community resources in order to create a connection between both worlds.
The tasks involved with the project are:
- Find out what the kids are looking for,
- give counsel,
- offer reference,
- accompany youth,
- resolve conflicts,
- build positive relationships with young people.
He also has learned about the services offered by the community organization-members of the Table, as well as their schedules in order to offer support to them. To reach the target age group, he also visited the parks, schools, métros and any other area where youth aged 12-25 congregate.
